I have the power to decide a thing, but I also have the responsibility to choose.

Prayer: Holy Spirit guide me in Your will today, deliver me from all plans of evil, lead me away from temptations of all kinds,  help me exercise Your Word, empower me for consistency in faith in Jesus name.

Continuing to reflect on Genesis 1-8, I also realize that for Noah to gain a new life, a fresh start, he had to let go of his old one.

When we want God to bring us into a new life, a fresh start, His own plan, rather than ours, it requires giving up those comfort zones. This requires trust in God, patience and dependency.

I’ve looked back at the times where my own faith was low, my belief in God to do what I couldn’t … doubt is such a common default mindset that it is also one of those comfort zones that we usually stick to. But doubt is a counteract of faith, and God works through faith. ‘You shall have whatever you say’

Mark 11:24  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Doubt is a comfort zone and one has to deliberately give it up, consciously walk out of it, on a daily basis. Walking out of doubt is a ‘chore’ that we have to accept is our daily responsibility to see ourselves grow.

One thing I realism with God is that, He says a thing, but we have the power to ruggedly agree with it or not, which ultimately determines if it will come to pass, for ourselves. For instance, God actually said in His word, the days of man shall be 120 years, yet we accept death as a norm of life. Now don’t shout me down, God said we shall live to 120, but most of us believe that’s impossible because science says… no no no. We got it all wrong. As I was praying today, just a simple prayer, it came to my mind, that indeed

I have the power to decide a thing, but I also have the responsibility to choose.

we shall eat the fruit of our lips, we are what we think… there are so many example of God telling us our power over ourselves, and this is why it is imperative to build ourselves in God’s word, because ultimately we will look exactly like, whatever we believe. That’s the power within us as human beings, let alone those who have chosen to become children of God with an inheritance.

Proverbs 23:7   For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.                                                                                           Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.

So the next time doubt creeps up against what God said to you, remember you have to power to decide and the responsibility to choose.
